Hospitality Design- Geeks’ Colony

The Business Model

The Geeks' Colony is a business concept designed to support the lifestyle of IT developers, who often work overnight or through intense work periods. Recognizing the need for a safe, comfortable space to rest, this model combines a co-working space with a capsule hotel, allowing developers to simply head upstairs for a rejuvenating rest instead of traveling back home.

This model brings together a co-working office, capsule hotel, bistro, and gym. With the office, bistro, and gym located on the main floor, freelancers and small businesses have easy access to food and fitness facilities throughout the day. Meanwhile, the capsule hotel upstairs offers an ideal resting spot for budget-conscious travelers and co-workers in need of a short break.

The Space Design

This design takes inspiration from the hexagon, with both floors built around this central shape. The main floor serves as the office area, housing workspaces, meeting rooms, a cafeteria, and a gym, while the second floor is reserved for private hotel accommodations. Spaces on each floor radiate outward from the central hexagon, with work areas on the first floor and hotel rooms surrounding the hexagon on the second floor.

In addition to traditional one- and two-bedroom hotel rooms, Geeks’ Colony offers compact, budget-friendly options. Drawing inspiration from Japanese capsule hotels, these tiny rooms feature shared bathrooms, meeting the needs of guests seeking a smaller space at a lower cost.

Two elevators support this layout, one designated for public use and the other exclusively for staff, ensuring smooth and efficient movement throughout the building.
