Restaurant Design- Chengshi Buffet

Chengshi Buffet is a conceptual project developed for a school design program, envisioning a vibrant buffet restaurant in the heart of Shanghai that caters to families, professionals, and all who enjoy dining in a fresh, romantic atmosphere. At the center of the space, a buffet station and bar are framed by two large dining areas, with the kitchen conveniently positioned behind. This layout minimizes walking distances, optimizing both guest experience and operational flow.

With the design inspired by "Spring," natural wood serves as the primary material throughout, from the wood slat ceiling and custom wine cabinets to the wooden flooring. A booth divider, influenced by traditional Chinese architecture, adds cultural depth, while custom lighting in pink and fresh green hues reflects cherry blossoms and new spring leaves, capturing the season’s refreshing energy.

Buffet Station

The grand, curved wine cabinet suspended from the ceiling commands attention, each slot illuminated by soft LED lighting to beautifully showcase the wine collection at the bar. This stunning feature creates a warm, luxurious ambiance that invites guests in. Positioned to face the buffet area, the bar becomes an enticing focal point, drawing customers in for a drink as they explore the restaurant.
